Work on the concert hall was in progress from 2007 to 2012. During this period of time, studies were conducted with a view to improving the stage acoustics and the orchestral balance for the audience. The studies consisted of both computer simulations and full scale tests including interviews with the musicians. The measures have been carried out step by step and have resulted in notable improvements in the acoustics, even though this was already of high standard.

One of the difficulties has had to do with the fixed concrete reflector installation (a listed structure) that hangs over the stage. Since the orchestra and the stage have both expanded, the conditions relative to this reflector have changed.

We dimensioned new reflectors over the existing ones and could thus restore the sound balance. The stage wings were also given new shape.
